Sue Courtenay, Principal
I always knew I'd make a living using my creativity to solve problems. Architecture became the vehicle that allowed me to achieve that goal. My passion is to provide sustainable, future-proof, high-performance building solutions that are aesthetically pleasing. VIVIDARCH is a one-stop shop for all your building needs. Leveraging 30 years of experience in design and building, I have established long-term working relationships with expert civil/structural engineers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers, surveyors, site inspectors, contractors, and cabinet-makers who will partner with me in the design, supervision, and construction of your next project.

I graduated from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), in Los Angeles in 1990 with a 5-year, professional Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree. In 2006 I graduated from the University of the West Indies, in Barbados with a master's degree in Business Administration (MBA).

I am a registered professional architect (Association of Professional Architects of Belize - APAB), a LEED-certified Green Associate, and an International Associate of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), with experience working in the USA, Belize, Jamaica, Dominica, and Trinidad & Tobago.
As a Senior Project Manager, I have executed projects funded by International Financial Institutions (IFIs) such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), and the EU on behalf of national governments, as well as the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

The graphic below illustrates our typical design process and the services included. We design in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment and tend to engage and collaborate with our sub-consultants and contractor(s) early in the design process. We find that this modality shortens the design time, improves the buildability and cost-certainty of the design, creates a better-integrated project team, and reduces the likelihood of changes during construction.
